This is a quick charcoal of my sister.  The paper has a toothy surface and doesn't allow for the fine detail that I can get when I work charcoal on vinyl.  Due to this, I was able to get this portrait done in a fraction of the time that it takes when working on vinyl.  I am going to list this portrait style at a more affordable price since there is less time involved. The main focus of this style of portrait are the facial features and the emotion evoked from the subject.  The background will be done in a simplistic style and the tone would be one that represents the subject.  Sunnys' (Sunshine) favorite colors are shades of yellows, oranges and greens. 

Best Friends for a day.

I was at a family gathering and camera ready.  I hovered in the background and in the shadows, watching everyone and waiting.  I got so many great shots of all the different people that were there that day.  From that shoot I have done 7 Artworks.  I do my best work when I shoot the pictures myself.  Because I see a situation or a moment  and grab it with my camera so that I can take that moment in time and turn it into something so much more than just a snapshot.  I would be honored to do the same for you and your family!

Man of Poetry.

This is portrait of a friend's Father who passed in January.  He was a great man in all areas of his life.  His passion was writing poetry in his spare time. We wanted to memorialize him and his beautiful poetry in this way so as to give this as a gift to his only son. 

These are the types of works that I adore doing.  Those that honor persons who have left us with so much.  Those persons who are not with us now, but who remain alive in us through spirit and fond memories. 

Please check out my policies on this service (after 09/15/08) as this is something that will handled with the upmost of care and consideration for the families.  No works such as these will be reproduced.  They will remain in a non-public portfolio unless permission is granted otherwise.  The family will have complete ownership of the original work and the digital file (if requsted).
